FREE Junior Flyfishing Tuition

In the summer holidays, local schoolchildren and holidaying visitors are welcome to join our FREE flyfishing lessons. All are welcome (you don't have to be a club member), and tackle is provided if you don't have your own. There are also fly tying lessons in winter, so please do contact us for details (see below).

Dates and times:
The lessons will start on the first friday in August commencing at 2-00 pm and finishing at 5-00 pm each day. The lessons usually run for five weeks; please bring your packed lunch and do remember your sunglasses.

Where?
We meet beside the Tennis Courts at Tyr Dref, Llandysul. (The tennis courts are beside the river, close to the main Car Park off New Road.)

What will we be doing?
The programme consists of:

  • Safety guidance
  • Tackle advice
  • Fly tying tuition
  • Casting tuition from qualified instructors
  • Casting competitions with tackle prizes
  • A waterlife survey
  • Flyfishing lessons of the River Teifi

Tackle can be provided free of charge; children over 12 need to have a national rod fishing licence, available at all Post Offices. Please bring packed lunch, sunglasses and wellies...
