Trout fishing at Bayliau
Trout fishing near the top of the Bayliau fishery

The Bayliau beat comprises a mile and a half of very varied fishing on the left bank of the River Teifi near Cellan. Some of the faster, streamy water is ideal trout habitat. Mature trees overhang the river in places, and on bright days trout sometimes rise freely there when the rest of the beat is inactive.

There are several deep pools that hold salmon and sea trout, particularly towards the back end of the season.

Statistics
Beat 2a, the Bayliau fishery comprising some 700 yards of right-bank fishing on the Teifi a mile upstream of Pont Steffan Bridge, Lampeter, is one of Llandysul A A's rented fisheries.
