Success at Pentre Farm fishery, River Teifi
A good pool at the Pentre Farm beat

The Pentre Farm fishery marks the upper limit of Llandysul A A fishing on the River Teifi. Here the river is less than half the size of the Teifi at Llandysul. The current is swift, and a wide variety of in-stream submerged vegetation, including ranunculus and starwort, makes for ideal trout habitat.

Wading at Pentre Fishery, River Teifi
In places the wading is far from easy

Even this far up river the wading can be difficult and care is needed, especially after a summer spate.

Salmon and sea trout do travel through this beat towards the end of the season; however, for most of the year it is as a wild brown trout fishery that we most value our beat at Pentre Farm.

Statistics
Beat 1, the Pentre Farm fishery, comprises a mile and a quarter of fishing on the left bank of the Teifi. Its lower limit adjoins our Rallt (Beat 1a) fishery. This is a rented beat.

Access and parking

Parking at Pentre Fishery
Access is via the left-hand gate

This beat is accessed from the B4343 Cwmann to Llanfair Clydogau road, via a farm gate opposite the lane to Pentre Farm. An orange Llandysul AA sign marks the access point.

Members are asked to park so that they do not block access to the field gates.

Beat limits
Orange Llandysul AA end-of-beat signs mark the upper and lower limits of this fishery.
